Our Fleet
A MODERN, WORLD-CLASS FLEET

Through our APL business unit NOL Group operates a modern fleet of vessels which is among the top 10 in the world.

The strength of our container fleet is closely matched to demand on both linehaul and feeder routes. Our own vessels are complemented by services with our alliance partners and slot charter agreements that provide flexibility to adjust capacity and respond quickly to customer needs and new opportunities.

The NOL Group continues to invest in its fleet to ensure that we can provide customers with the very best service and, in line with our environmental commitment, continue to improve the performance and efficiency of our fleet.

The average age of APL container ships is only nine years, with every vessel certified to the latest ISM (International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention) standards.

Our newbuilding programme ensures that additions to our fleet incorporate the most environmentally-friendly technologies available such as TBT-free anti fouling paints and emission-reducing engines. Wherever possible existing APL vessels are retro-fitted with these features, and equipment is constantly being upgraded.
